New Holland Construction Adds Greater Versatility to its Small Articulated Loader Portfolio

New Holland Construction’s newest powerhouse small articulated loaders (SALs), the ML27 SAL and ML27T telescopic reach SAL, are making their North America debut. Designed to redefine efficiency and versatility, these mid-size small articulated loaders are set to become the ultimate tool for utility, construction, landscape and agricultural work.

“The ML27 and ML27T SALs will be new go-to machines for contractors tackling any job in compact, low-clearance areas with power and precision,” says Dan Kakareka, product manager for New Holland Construction North America. “These loaders combine a rugged steel design, top-notch safety features and unparalleled operational capabilities to deliver outstanding performance in demanding environments and diverse applications.”

Digging into ML27 Series Specifics

Both machines feature a 50-horsepower engine and heavy-duty drivetrain, providing exceptional towing power and rapid acceleration up to 18.6 mph. These models boast a sturdy operating weight of 5,732 lbs. and feature a lifting height of 8.25 feet (2.5 meters). The ML27 impresses with a lifting capacity of 6,393 lbs., while the ML27T excels with 6,405 lbs. Other features of these models include:

  • Standard lift path options for loading and other tasks.
  • Mechanical self-leveling for consistent load handling.
  • Loader lift arm support struts for stability.
  • Extra counterweights for enhanced lift performance.
  • The exclusive telescopic boom feature on the ML27T.
  • SSL-compatible attachment hydraulic powered coupler for efficient tool changes.

The ML27 and ML27T are indispensable tools, offering the power and versatility to excel in diverse scenarios, from heavy lifting and precise maneuvering to specialized jobs like:

  • Agricultural work: Useful for feeding livestock, cleaning barns and handling bales or other farm materials in tight barn spaces or uneven fields.
  • Construction sites and warehouses: Effective for site preparation, debris removal and material transportation around crowded jobsites with restricted access points. Their ability to lift and transport pallets and other materials makes them ideal for warehouse and supply yard operations.
  • Landscape work, tree care and golf course maintenance: Easily maneuver around flower beds, trees and other obstacles to complete grading, installing sod and spreading mulch tasks. Forestry and tree care tasks like stump grinding, tree planting and wood chipping can also be achieved with the ML27 and ML27T. Additionally, these models are ideal for moving sand, soil and other materials on golf courses without damaging the turf, thanks to their low ground pressure.
  • Municipal maintenance and snow removal: Ideal for street and sidewalk maintenance, including pothole repair, curb installation and other urban infrastructure tasks. Equipped with a snowblower or plow attachments, SALs can efficiently clear snow from narrow driveways, sidewalks and parking lots.
  • Utility work: Perfect for trenching, backfilling and pipe laying where space is limited and ground disturbance must be minimized.

A safety, durability and versatility-driven design

The ML27 models are constructed with durable metal and steel, designed to withstand rigorous use and outlast machines that otherwise use plastic components. Multiple tire options – including agricultural, hybrid and turf tires – are available to provide owners with the right choices to meet ground disturbance and maneuverability requirements for any job. Operator comfort is a priority with spacious cabs featuring wide entry/exit, a tiltable steering column, ample foot room and options for hand or foot throttle. All controls are conveniently located on the joystick, allowing operators to maintain focus and control without removing their hands. Enhanced visibility around the machine and down to the attachments reduces blind spots and eases operator stress.

Safety and technology are at the forefront of both ML27 models’ construction. Roll Over Protective Structure and Falling Object Protective Structure (ROPS/FOPS) certification guarantees machine balance when carrying heavy loads or completing tasks where rollover risks may occur. It also ensures an added level of protection when debris comes into contact with the cab. Features like oscillation for stability, backup alarms and comprehensive lighting kits further ensure operator safety. All ML27 SAL models come with a five-year Fleet Force Telematics subscription, providing advanced telematics for optimal fleet management.

New Holland Construction’s SALs are compatible with more than 50 high-flow attachments via a hi-flow skid steer coupler, including buckets, forks, grapples, sweepers and more. These loaders streamline operations by offering quick attachment changes, reducing the need for additional equipment and personnel.

The ML27 model will be on display at Equip Expo from October 15-18, 2024, in the New Holland Construction booth #7068. These SALs will be available for purchase on October 10, 2024, at any local New Holland Construction dealership. For more information, visit construction.newholland.com
